All Excel Olympian Cartridges have lead shot with 5.7% Antimony and other hardening alloys. This shot is made for us in Italy to exacting requirements by a specialist lead shot manufacturer. The powders used for Excel Cartridges are Vectan powders made in Brittany, France by the SNPE Group to the very highest standards of consistency and cleanliness. The powders are single base flake powders which will burn at low pressures ensuring the very uniform patterns demanded by knowledgeable shooters. The Plastic Wad is designed to protect the shot and to open at the muzzle to prevent the wad from scattering the shot as the shot leaves the muzzle.
