The components used in the Pigeon Special have been specially selected to produce an inexpensive quality alternative to the standard product offered by Lyalvale. The propellant powder used is still manufactured by Vectan in Brittany, France and carries the standard guarantee of quality although it is differs from the standard powder used by Express. The case is Translucent Green and is of EEC origin. We utilise a translucent case for ease of inspection to ensure the most stringent Quality Control possible. The lead shot used in Pigeon Special is produced in the EEC and is specifically selected for use only in this cartridge because of the slightly lower than normal Antimony content. This ensures maximum transfer of energy to the quarry, without the need for excessive speeds and therefore heavier recoil.

With the increase in demand for fibre wadded products the Pigeon Special Fibre was introduced in 1999. Modelled on the proven ballistics of its plastic wad counterpart the Pigeon Special Fibre is now a firm favourite amongst shooters who are commited to use Fibre cartridges for their sport.
